Legendary Run Golf Course is under new ownership.
Golf Legendary Run Ohio, LLC recently purchased the golf course, six months after it went on the market. Details of the sale were not disclosed.
The asking price for the golf course located in Clermont County’s Pierce Township was $2.4 million. The Clermont County Auditor’s website shows the course sold June 18 for over $2.3 million.
The new ownership is headed by Jamie Miller, Larry Galloway, and Pat Kelley, who also operate GlenOaks Country Club in Louisville. Miller and his father, Bruce Miller, are investors in a group that purchased GlenOaks in 2016, according to a report from the Courier-Journal.
Jamie Miller has been a professional golfer who has helped develop golf courses and manage golf clubs from California to Florida, including working with the Arnold Palmer golf organization, according to Courier-Journal.
Shortly after buying GlenOaks, the new ownership announced on its Facebook page plans for renovations.
The purchase of Legendary Run is a little different for the group, Jamie Miller said. A lot of times these sales come about because a golf course is not doing well. That’s not the case with Legendary Run.
For this reason, he said, they will take it a little slower with any changes that might be made. Initially, the new ownership will look at introducing new programs to the golf program.
An existing all-inclusive /loyalty program will be expanded upon, Miller said. Golfers can also expect the introduction of an afternoon membership type program. All offer rewards and incentives.
These changes can be expected to start taking place within a few weeks, he said. Changes to food service could come in 2019.
Mike McCaw originally developed the Legendary Run Golf Course in 1996. The golf course was designed by Arthur Hills. Legendary Run is a championship course that is 7,100 yards from its back tees and includes nine lakes, heavy woods, and rolling hills, according to its website. It’s surrounded by the Legendary Run community which includes a mix of family homes, patio homes, and condominiums.
Legendary Run can realize significant growth potential through aggressive marketing and more hands-on management through the new owner, McCaw said in a statement.
The new ownership is expected to retain the existing staff at Legendary Run.
