Bob Denney of the PGA of America wrote a fantastic article during last month’s Black History Month celebrations saluting the amazing father and daughter team of William and Renee Powell who created and still run the historic Clearview Golf Course in East Canton, Ohio.

Despite the fact her father has passed away, Renee has continued their family legacy as one of the most famous and groundbreaking club professionals in the United States.

Denney’s article tells the story of the veteran of the D-Day invasion in World War II who decided to create an every man’s golf course after being denied a place to play after returning from his military service.

Read more here about their story and amazing achievements that have have made them the only father and daughter combination to be selected for induction into the PGA Hall of Fame.
