COLUMBUS, Ohio — Four courses from Central Ohio were listed among the top five courses in the entire state of Ohio by Golf Digest in their most recent state rankings of all courses public and private.
Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin retained its top ranking. The Golf Club in New Albany which was recently renovated by it’s original architect Pete Dye landed in the second spot. Both courses are rated among the best modern designs (built since 1960) in the nation and the world.
The biggest mover on the list was Moraine Country Club in Dayton that also has finished up an amazing ten year renovation project that gave the course an entire new look after removing hundreds of tree’s from the layout.
The Virtues in Nashport, Ohio was the only public course to crack the list. It is a destination course for golfers knocking out the top 100 courses that everyone can play. More than half the play at The Virtues (formerly Longaberger Golf Club) comes from golfers from out of state.
